Activating Specification Compliance Manager

A prompt to activate Specification Compliance Manager appears after the installation process is complete. The product can be activated online or offline at that time, or activation can be postponed to a later point. Regardless, product activation is required before you can use Specification Compliance Manager.

Activating Specification Compliance Manager Online

Online activation requires that you already have a product activation code for Specification Compliance Manager. Refer to Activating Specification Compliance Manager Offline for instructions to generate a product activation code.

  1. Click Log in to Activate in the Activate Software window for Specification Compliance Manager.
  2. Log in to ni.com with your NI account credentials.
  3. Select Enter a serial number from the drop-down menu in the license activation window that appears.
  4. Enter the Specification Compliance Manager product serial number and click Activate.
  5. Review that the activation information is correct, then click Finish.

Activating Specification Compliance Manager Offline

Offline activation requires you to request an activation code on ni.com to gain access to Specification Compliance Manager.

  1. Click No internet connection? Continue with offline activation in the Activate Software window to open the offline activation screen for Specification Compliance Manager.
  2. Copy the Computer ID, which is located below the activation code field in the license activation window.
  3. Navigate to the NI Product Activation Code Generation Form.
  4. Fill in the required fields in the form and paste the Computer ID which you copied previously.
  5. Open the confirmation email which was sent to the email address that you entered in the form. The confirmation email includes an activation code for Specification Compliance Manager.
  6. Enter the activation code in the license activation window and click Activate.
  7. Review that the activation information is correct, then click Finish.

Activating Specification Compliance Manager After Product Installation

Specification Compliance Manager allows product activation to be complete after the installation process has finished. After Specification Compliance Manager is installed, you can activate the product through NI License Manager (NILM).

  1. Launch NILM.
    Note

    Specification Compliance Manager should appear as an entry in the Product Summary list.

  2. Open the Local Licenses tab to view Specification Compliance Manager license information.
  3. Right-click the server license entry and click Activate.
  4. Complete either the online license activation procedure or offline license activation procedure.
