Accessing Specification Compliance Manager in a Web Browser

You must connect to the local host that is running the Specification Compliance Manager server in order to open Specification Compliance Manager in a web browser.

  1. Connect to the server running Specification Compliance Manager by entering the hostname in the browser address bar. For example, if the hostname is MyMachine, the expected local host URL is https://MyMachine.
    Note If HTTPS is enabled in the web browser, you might encounter a certificate authority error. Bypass this error to proceed to the Specification Compliance Manager login screen. Refer to Updating the Server TLS Certificate for a procedure to replace the self-signed certificate with a certificate signed by your organization’s certificate authority.
  2. After the login page loads, log in to Specification Compliance Manager using the appropriate method.
    1. To log in with a single sign-on (SSO) account, click the single sign-on (SSO) button and sign in using your SSO account credentials.
    2. To log in with a Specification Compliance Manager user account, click Use alternate sign in, enter your account credentials, and click Sign in.

Updating the Server TLS Certificate

If you wish to host on a domain and protect network traffic exchanged with that domain using HTTPS, you can update Specification Compliance Manager to use the certificate signed by the required certificate authority.

  1. Navigate to the following file directory and open the application settings file:
    %PROGRAMFILES%\National Instruments\Shared\SCM\appsettings.json
  2. Edit the Path and Password keys in the file, located within Kestrel » HTTPS » Certificate.
    Note You must specify a PFX file in the Path key. The Password key is required.
  3. Save your changes to appsettings.json.
  4. Restart the Specification Compliance Manager service to implement the changes you have made.
