RMX-10101/10102 Block Diagram
The NI RMX-10101/10102 contains the core mechanical, power, and safety infrastructure for an automated test station. These systems provide standardized core components to simplify design and documentation while intentionally allowing customization for specific instrumentation and applications.
Power Entry Panel
The power entry panel (PEP) provides the access point for main AC input into the RMX-10101/10102. The PEP also provides a branch-rated disconnect breaker, power monitoring circuitry, power line filtering, and emergency disconnect contactors.
Power Distribution Unit (PDU)
A PDU takes an input power signal and distributes it to a number of outlets that can power components of the system. These internal power outlets from the PDU have a rated voltage and current and are available for both alternating and direct current.
Grounding
Protective earthing is provided by the appliance inlet. Grounding terminals can be used for a supplemental or functional ground strap.
Emergency Shutdown (EMO)
When a test system encounters a serious issue or an emergency is taking place in the facility, operators need the ability to quickly and cleanly power off the test system. EMO mechanisms are included on the RMX-10101/10102 to simplify connectivity and inhibit power switching.
Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)
You can use the UPS to power critical components in your system during power loss, brownouts, and during normal operation as well. It acts as a battery power supply after a power outage or significant brownout.
Power States
The RMX-10101/10102 has multiple states of operation which affect the behavior of the system.
Rack Control Unit
The RMX-10101/10102 rack control unit (RCU) is responsible for communicating with and monitoring all aspects of the system.
Temperature Sensors
The RMX-10101/10102 is equipped with TEMP-1012X temperature sensors that are spaced throughout the rack to track temperature.
Status LED
The RMX-10101/10102 possesses status LEDs on the front and rear I/O panels which indicate if the rack is currently in an error state.
