ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 System Environmental Guidelines
Adhere to these environmental guidelines when utilizing an ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system.
Thermal Protection Shutoff
ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 systems are equipped with multiple thermal protection sensors at the top of the system and at the system exhaust that will shut the system down if a temperature threshold of 85 °C is reached. Top-of-rack thermal protection sensors are located at the rack ceiling panel for the ATE-15U and at the top-of-rack fans for the ATE-38U, ATE-44U, and ATE-38E.
Caution Once
the thermal protection shutoff has tripped, any touchable or accessible surface should
be allowed to cool to 65 °C before servicing the system.
All service must be done by a trained service person.
Attention Une
The system should be inspected after the thermal protection shutoff is activated.
Caution Be
sure to disconnect AC power from your ATE Core Configurations
Generation 2 system before performing an
inspection.
Attention Veillez à déconnecter l’alimentation
CA de votre système Configurations de base d’équipement de test automatisé (ATE) de
deuxième génération avant d’effectuer une inspection.
After the fault is
removed and the system is safe, reconnect AC power and complete the Powering On
procedure. The system should now power on as normal. Note that if the thermal protection
sensors have tripped it is likely a result of a fault in the system (such as a fan
failure) that should be addressed before the system is allowed to resume normal
operation.Note The thermal protection is configured so
that the sensors will not activate under normal operating conditions, recommended power
levels, cooling configuration, and ambient environment. If the thermal protection
sensors are triggered and no equipment fault can be found in the system, the system may
be configured in such a way that there is an extreme thermal load in a small area of the
system. Care should be taken to configure the system so thermal loads are spread evenly
throughout the interior of the system.

Note The RMX-10140-16S2 and RMX-10140-24S2 can be
used in other rack configurations if the PEP ambient temperature does not exceed 50 °C.
Note The RMX-10151 Single-Phase PDU can be utilized in different locations and
systems if the operating temperature is adhered to.
