ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 System Components

ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 systems come in three model layouts — the ATE-15U, which has 15U of rack space, the ATE-38U/44U, which has either 38U or 44U of rack space, and the ATE-38E, which has 38U of rack space and a deeper rack depth of 1100 mm to increase the internal rack space. Each rack model contains 2U of side space for power distribution and infrastructure components in addition to the primary rack space.

You can find the configuration name of your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system in the Regulatory ID field on the system label. The configuration name describes the frame infrastructure specifications and components installed in the system, including rack size and power entry panel (PEP) and power distribution unit (PDU) configuration. Use the following key to understand standard rack configuration names:

ATE-15U Components

The ATE-15U has 15U of rack space and includes a single fan panel capable of cooling up to 3.6 kW of power dissipated inside the rack. The rack height is optimized for a top-mounted DUT interface while maintaining good ergonomics, but also be used with a front mounted interface. The ATE-15U air intake is in the front-bottom of the rack, and hot air is exhausted out the top-rear of the rack away from operators.

Number Component Name Description
1 RMX-10140 Power Entry Panel Rack entry point for facility power. Several power entry panel (PEP) models are available to transmit single phase at different power levels to built-in rack components and equipment directly connected to the PEP or connected through an RMX-10151 Single-Phase Power Distribution Unit (PDU). The PEP also contains the safety disconnect relays which open when the Emergency Power Off (EMO) button is pressed. Not all PEPs are supported in the ATE-15U.
2 RMX-10151 Single-Phase Power Distribution Unit Receives single-phase power from the PEP and distributes it to equipment in the rack, including DC PDUs. Depending on the PEP, an ATE-15U can support one to three RMX-10151 Single-Phase PDUs located in either the main rack space or side space. Up to two of the supported PDUs can be in the rack side space.
3 AUX DC 600 and AUX DC 1200 Power Distribution Units Provide DC power rails throughout the system and provide options for static 12 V, 24 V, or 48 V power rails.
4 RCU-10110 Rack Control Unit Communicates with and monitors all aspects of the system, including inlet power, power distribution, temperature, and fan health.
5 FAN-10130 Fan Panel Exhausts hot air out of the rack. Each ATE-15U contains one to two fan panels, each with three fans.
6 Monitor and Keyboard Mounting Location Mounting location that can hold a monitor, keyboard, and mouse supported by an articulating arm.
7 I/O Panel Panel which houses all I/O used to interact with the system. Typical I/O includes a power button, status LED, EMO button, and Ethernet connectors, but system I/O can contain additional ports on both the front and rear I/O panels.
8 Vertical Mounting Rail Mounting rails used to mount 19 in. equipment in the rack. Each system comes shipped with 6 mounting rails. These rails use cage nuts for mounting.
9 Main Intake Brings in air to cool equipment in the main rack space. This intake is located on the front of the rack.
10 Side Intake Brings in air to cool side space equipment. This intake is located on the front of the rack.

ATE-38U/44U Components

The ATE-38U/44U comes in two rack configurations:
  • ATE-38U— configuration with 38U of rack space and two fan panels with a cooling capacity of up to 10.5 kW of power.
  • ATE-44U—configuration with 44U of rack space and two fan panels with a cooling capacity of up to 10.5 kW of power.

ATE-38U/44U racks have air intakes located in the bottom-rear of the rack, and exhaust heat out of the top of the rack.
