You can use the UPS to power critical components in your system during power loss, brownouts, and during normal operation as well. It acts as a battery power supply after a power outage or significant brownout.

The diagram below illustrates how to connect UPS units to an RMX-10140 PEP. A 3-Phase Delta PEP is used in the example connection, but the illustrated method applies to all RMX-10140 PEPs.
Figure 59. RMX-10140 PEP with Connected UPS

UPS1 provides backup power to Phase 1 powered components including the rack control unit (RCU), Fan Panel 1 outlet, AUX C13 outlets, and PDU1 C19 outlet. UPS2 provides backup power to Phase 2 powered components. These components will remain powered in the event of a power outage or brownout.
Note The ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 still cuts power to the Fan Panel 1 outlet, PDU 1 C19 outlet, and PDU 2 C19 outlet during an EMO event if you have a UPS connected.
Note The ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 supports a maximum of two UPS units.
Caution If your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system utilizes UPS units to provide backup power, the UPS outlets will remain powered if you intentionally disconnect the rack input power. To safely service a rack with a connected UPS, press the power button on the UPS and disconnect the rack input power to fully power down the rack.
