Spec Mapping View

Every measurement data sample in Specification Compliance Manager must map to a specification to be included in compliance health calculations. Typically, specification mapping occurs within the measurement data file while measurements are taken. If needed, the Spec Mapping view provides capabilities to map measurement data to product specifications within Specification Compliance Manager.

This view contains a table with rows for each product specification defined in the Spec view. You can filter this table to display only a single specification category and you can use the search button to locate a specification within the table.

Each specification row has a drop-down menu to select a mapping rule and a drop-down menu to select the measurement data for the operation. After all mapping rules and measurement data are set, you can select the checkbox in each affected row and click Run Selected Rules to apply the changes. Refer to Defining and Applying Specification Mapping Rules for additional instructions about applying specification mapping rules.

Note The list of measurements in the Measurement Name drop-down menu is filtered to only data in the unit of measure that matches the product specification.

Click the help icon (1378) on the Spec Mapping view for an example of each specification mapping rule. Refer to the following table for a description of each specification mapping rule in Specification Compliance Manager.

Table 3. Specification Mapping Rule Descriptions
Icon Name Description
1378 Replace Removes any existing links to the specification and creates a new link between the specification and the selected measurement(s).
1378 Append Creates a new link between the specification and the selected measurement(s) without changing any existing relationships.
1378 Clear Removes any existing links between the specification and measurement data.

Specification mapping rules are unique for each discipline in the Specification Compliance Manager interface. When analyzing data across multiple disciplines, verify that mapping rules are set correctly for each discipline to ensure that all measurement data is prepared correctly.
