The power entry panel (PEP) provides the access point for main AC input into an ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system. The PEP also provides a branch-rated disconnect breaker, power monitoring circuitry, power line filtering, and emergency disconnect contactors.
There are seven PEPs compatible with ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 systems:
| PEP Name | Input Connector | Voltage Rating and Phase | Input Current Rating | Maximum Power[1]1 Power that the PEP can distribute to the rack equipment, calculated using the input current rating of the PEP and the maximum supported voltage. The continuous power dissipated inside the rack must be limited to the power dissipation capabilities of the system. | Outlets |

- Branch-rated input breaker[2]2 The PEP input current rating is 80% of the branch breaker rating.
- Applicable line filters and transient suppressors for EMI protection within the system
- Applicable kill-switch relay for emergency shutoff of Mains power through Emergency Shutdown (EMO)
- One external GND terminal that can be used to connect to your facility GND[3]3 This connection is required for PEPs with hardwired input connections.
- Power outlets to provide power to the RCU and fan AC/DC power supplies
- Two C13 power outlets which remain powered on during an EMO event to provide power to "always on" equipment
- One to three C19 outlets
- UPS interface
- RCU communication port
PEP Naming
| Signifying Letter | Phase |
|---|---|
| S | Single Phase |
| D | 3-Phase Delta |
| Y | 3-Phase Wye |
| Signifying String | Outlet Specification |
|---|---|
| 2 | 240 V |
PEPs whose names end in "P" have a 3-Phase output to power 3-Phase instruments in the rack.
1 Power that the PEP can distribute to the rack equipment, calculated using the input current rating of the PEP and the maximum supported voltage. The continuous power dissipated inside the rack must be limited to the power dissipation capabilities of the system.
2 The PEP input current rating is 80% of the branch breaker rating.
3 This connection is required for PEPs with hardwired input connections.
Related Information
- Emergency Shutdown (EMO)
When a test system encounters a serious issue or an emergency is taking place in the facility, operators need the ability to quickly and cleanly power off the test system. EMO mechanisms are included on ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 systems to simplify connectivity and inhibit power switching.
- Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)
You can use the UPS to power critical components in your system during power loss, brownouts, and during normal operation as well. It acts as a battery power supply after a power outage or significant brownout.
