Checking for Updates

Update Service automatically checks for updates when you run it. Complete the following steps to check for updates manually:

1. Select the File»Check for Updates menu item. Update Service collects non-personal system information required to identify and evaluate updates and sends the information to ni.com to check for updates. Once Update Service finishes evaluating the results, a list of updates appears. Updates issued since the last time Update Service checked for updates are marked NEW.
2. Click on each update to view the details in the update information section.
   Note Updates that are grayed out might be included in another update.
3. Follow the directions in Installing Updates to install any listed updates.
