Requires: Control Design and Simulation Module

Place an External Model function on a simulation diagram to display this dialog box. You also can right-click an existing External Model function and select Select External Model Library from the shortcut menu to display this dialog box.

Use this dialog box to specify the shared library that defines the dynamic equations for an external, or third-party, model you want to simulate.

This dialog box includes the following components:

  • External model library path—Specifies the path to the shared library that defines the dynamic equations for the external model. Click the Browse button to navigate to a (Windows) .dll, (macOS) .framework, or (Linux) .so file.
  • Configuration parameters—Specifies model configuration parameters that define the external model you want to simulate. This text box is grayed out if the external model does not require model configuration parameters. Refer to the documentation for the external, or third-party, model for information about required model configuration parameters.
