This is where you select where to save the component.

  You can only save a component to the Corporate Database or the User Database.

Refer to the table below as needed:

Family tree

Corporate Database— Click to select this database. Database changes to reflect the selection.

User Database—Click to select this database. Database changes to reflect the selection.

For either database, click on the + and select one of the component groups that display. Group changes to reflect the selection.
Database Shows the database that is selected in the Family tree.
Group Shows the group that is selected in the Family tree. You cannot add groups here.
Family Shows the family that is selected in the Family tree.
Family area Select whether to use an ANSI Y32.2 or IEC 60617 symbol.
Add family

Use to add a component family to the group selected in the Family tree if necessary.

  You cannot save to a group.
Place this component

Select to place the new component on the schematic when you click Finish.

This does not appear for PLD component creation.
Finish

Click to complete the component creation.

If you checked Place this component, the component appears as a “ghost” on the cursor. Click in the desired location on the schematic to place it.
