This is where you set symbol pin parameters during component creation. Exercise caution when making changes to default settings.

Refer to the table below as needed:

Add hidden pin

Click to add a hidden pin. A new row with default hidden pin information appears in the Pin table. Edit as required.

A hidden pin is part of the model and/or package that does not show in the schematic.

This does not appear for PLD component creation.
Delete hidden pin

Click to delete the selected hidden pin.

This is not active unless a hidden pin is selected in the Pin table.

This does not appear for PLD component creation.
Pin table Symbol pin name—You can enter any name or number here.
Section—Select the desired section for this pin from this drop-down list.

Type—Select the pin type from the drop-down list that appears.

Choices differ depending on the type of component being created. These pin types affect the electrical rules check report.

It is not necessary to change the default setting for analog components.

However, the default for digital components (NC) must be changed, as the setting affects the pin drivers and receivers, and therefore simulation.
ERC status—Select whether to Include or Exclude the pin from the electrical rules check.
