NI-SLSC 21.3 has added the following new features:
The following list details the hardware models supported in NI-SLSC 21.3.
The default device reservation timeout for the SLSC Initialize and SLSC Reserve nodes has been increased to five seconds. This change improves the robustness of device reservation in typical scenarios. Previously, the default reservation timeout value was zero seconds.
For existing code that does not explicitly wire a reservation timeout, this change could cause the program to stall for up to 5 seconds upon an attempted reservation (a stall will occur only if the device in question is already reserved). If desired, the previous behavior can be restored by explicitly setting the timeout to zero seconds.
Refer to the NI-SLSC Help, accessible by navigating to the C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-SLSC\Documentation directory and opening NI-SLSC Help.chm, for information about the NI-SLSC driver software. You can also refer to the NI-SLSC VI Reference Help, accessible by selecting Help»NI-SLSC VI Reference Help in LabVIEW, for information about SLSC VIs.
You can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes.
If the NI product you are installing uses Microsoft .NET 4.6.2, the .NET installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.6.2 separately before you install NI software.
For more information about automating the installation of NI products, refer to Automating an Installer in the NI Package Manager manual.
Microsoft Windows 10 is the latest version of the Windows operating system and features significant changes compared to previous versions. Windows 10 introduces several new capabilities and also combines features from both Windows 7 and Windows 8. For more information about NI support for Windows 10, refer to NI Product Compatibility for Microsoft Windows 10.
