Use the scale legend to label scales and configure scale properties on a graph or chart.

To configure scales with the scale legend, complete the following steps.

  1. To view the scale legend, right-click the graph or chart and select Visible Items » Scale Legend from the shortcut menu.
  2. Use the scale legend buttons to configure the scales.
    • Scale Lock button icon showing a padlock. (Scale Lock): Toggle autoscaling for each scale.
    • Autoscale button icon with a graph and green indicator. (Autoscale): Adjust the scale to reflect the data you wire to the graph or chart.
    • Scale Format button icon with numeric display and dropdown arrow. (Scale Format): Configure the format, precision, and mapping mode, set the visibility of the scale and scale label, and specify the grid color.
  3. Optional: Add multiple y-scales to the graph or chart with the scale legend.
    1. Use the Positioning tool to expand the scale legend to add a y-scale to the graph or chart.
    2. Click anywhere in the scale legend row to activate the scale.
