Complete the following steps before beginning this repair procedure:
  1. Power off the RMX-10101/10102 by flipping the main disconnect branch breaker to off.
  2. If your RMX-10101/10102 utilizes a UPS to provide backup power to Phase 1 powered components, press the power button on the UPS to power it down.
  3. Disconnect the RMX-10101/10102 from facility power.

Equipment

  • T10 Torx head screwdriver, 0.76 N · m (6.7 lb. · in.)
  • T25 Torx head screwdriver, 1.30 N · m (11.5 lb. · in.)
  • Cable ties
  1. Locate the inlet at the side compartment of the rack.
  2. Unscrew the four screws to remove the inlet support panel from the rack using the T25 Torx head screwdriver.

  3. Locate the temperature sensor you are replacing.

  4. Remove the temperature sensor from the rack.
    1. Unscrew the two screws at the temperature sensor adapter bracket using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
    2. If you are replacing the primary temperature sensor, unscrew the two screws securing the temperature sensor bracket and RCU-to-temperature-sensor signal cable ring lug to the temperature sensor adapter bracket using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.
    3. If you are replacing the daisy chain temperature sensor, unscrew the two screws securing the temperature sensor bracket and daisy chain signal cable ring lug to the temperature sensor adapter bracket using the T10 Torx head screwdriver.

  5. Cut the cable ties securing the cables to the temperature sensor bracket.
  6. Unplug the signal cables from the temperature sensor board.
  7. Reconnect the signal cables to the new temperature sensor board.
  8. Secure the signal cables to the new temperature sensor bracket using cable ties.
  9. Reattach the temperature sensor to the side inlet.
    1. If you are replacing the primary temperature sensor, screw in the two screws to mount the RCU-to-temperature-sensor signal cable ring lug and new temperature sensor bracket to the temperature sensor adapter bracket.
    2. If you are replacing the daisy chain temperature sensor, screw in the two screws to mount the daisy chain signal cable ring lug and new temperature sensor bracket to the temperature sensor adapter bracket.
    3. Screw in the two screws to reinstall the temperature sensor adapter bracket to the rack.
  10. Screw in the four screws to reinstall the inlet support panel to the rack using the T25 Torx head screwdriver.
Once installation of the new temperature sensor is complete, you can reconnect facility power to the RMX-10101/10102 and power on the rack.
