Before running an Electrical Rules Check you can set which pins to exclude or include for each component.

Complete the following steps to set up which pins in a component to include or exclude from an ERC:

  1. Double-click on the desired component to display its properties dialog box and click the Pins tab.
  2. In the Visible pins table, set the following as desired:
    • ERC Status—Select either Include or Exclude for each of the component's visible pins.
    • NC—Select Yes to add NC (no connection) markers to a pin. A pin marked in this way will not generate an unconnected pin error when you run the ERC.

You cannot wire to pins with NC markers.

You cannot change the NC state of a pin that is already wired to a net.

  3. If the component also has a Hidden pins table, set the cells in the following columns as desired:
    • Hidden on-page connectors—Click to display the Hidden Pin Connection dialog box. Change the Connector name, or make a selection in the Available connectors table.
    • ERC Status—Select either Include or Exclude for each of the component's hidden pins.

The Name, Type and Net colums in the Visible pins and Hidden pins tables are for information only, and cannot be edited.
