Overview

The NI InsightCM Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) Toolkit is an add-on for NI InsightCM™ Server. After Installing the NI InsightCM MCSA Toolkit, NI InsightCM Server allows you to configure NI Motor Monitoring Devices, manage the data that the NI Motor Monitoring Devices acquire and store, manage alarms, and so on.


System Requirements

The NI InsightCM MCSA Toolkit has the same system requirements as NI InsightCM Server. Refer to the NI InsightCM Server Readme for system requirements and supported operating systems for NI InsightCM Server.


Application Software Support

NI InsightCM MCSA Toolkit supports only like-numbered versions of NI InsightCM Server.


Installation Instructions

Complete the following steps to install the NI InsightCM MCSA Toolkit:


Note  Visit ni.com/info and enter the Info Code USBGuideSpec for the USB flash drive user guide and specifications.


  1. Insert the NI InsightCM MCSA Toolkit installation USB drive in the server machine.
  2. Run setup.exe as administrator.
  3. Follow the installer prompts, enter any required information, and activate when prompted, if necessary.

Visit ni.com/security to view and subscribe to receive security notifications about NI products. Visit ni.com/critical-updates for information about critical updates from NI.


Accessing the Help

Refer to the NI InsightCM Server Configuration and Monitoring Help, accessible by clicking Help in the top-right corner of the NI InsightCM web application, for information about NI InsightCM Server and NI Condition Monitoring Devices.


Automating the Installation of NI Products

You can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes. However, starting with the August 2012 releases (products using NI Installers version 3.1 or later), you may need to perform additional steps before or during a silent installation of NI software.


If the NI product you are installing uses Microsoft .NET 4.0, the .NET installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.0 separately before you install NI software.
