You can cascade two counters to make a single 64-bit counter. For example, you can set two counters to count edges, and internally route the terminal count signal from the first counter to the input of the second counter. By cascading counters, you also can enable other applications. For example, to improve the accuracy of frequency measurements, use reciprocal frequency measurement, as described in the Large Range of Frequencies with Two Counters topic.
