Create an API key to automate access to the SystemLink API from an external application.

An API key has the same privileges and workspace access as the user who creates it. Ensure that you have the necessary privileges to perform the action you want the key to access.
Note Key privileges and access do not update if the role assigned to the user changes.
You must have API Key Management privileges to complete the following steps.
  1. Click » Account.
  2. In the API keys tab of the Edit account slide-out, click Create API Key.
  3. Optional: Enter a name for the key.
  4. Click to copy the key to your clipboard.
  5. Click OK.
Pass the API key in a header named X-NI-API-Key or from LabVIEW, C#, or Python APIs.
