Creating a PXIe-657x Interface
Creating an interface for a PXIe-6570/6571 in the Semiconductor Device Control Add-On requires configuration of a project file in the Digital Pattern Editor. You must use the Digital Pattern Editor to create this interface before you can configure the interface in the Semiconductor Device Control Add-On.
Note Refer to the Digital Pattern Editor
Manual for more information about using the Digital Pattern Editor.
Complete the following steps to save a copy of a digital pattern project template and configure the project for your system.
- Open File Explorer and navigate to %Public%\Documents\National Instruments\Semi Device Control (64-bit)\NI Digital Pattern Templates to locate the digital pattern project template folders.
- Select the project template folder for the type of interface you intend to implement.
- Save a copy of the selected project template folder in the directory that contains the rest of your project files.
- Open the digital project file (.digiproj) in the new project template folder.
-
Open the pin map file (.pinmap) in the digital pattern
project and update the following settings.
- Set the Instrument Name. You can refer to NI MAX to gather information about the name of the instrument.
-
Add all DIO pins that require control through the Semiconductor Device Control Add-On.
Note Do not delete DUT pins from the pin map. DUT pins in the template pin map are already configured for the selected protocol.
- If needed, add sites to the pin map file to match the number of I2C buses in the device.
- Select each connection in the pin map file and configure the settings for each DIO pin and site.
- Close the pin map file.
-
Open the pin levels file (.digilevels) in the digital
pattern project and update the voltage levels for each DUT pin and system
pin.
Tip You can set a constant value for the voltage level of a pin, or specify a variable to reference the relevant value in the project specifications file.
