Use Hardware Configuration Utility to create aliases for instruments that are used and controlled by the RF Playback Software.

  • VSTs—NI recommends that you name each PXIe-5842 in your system numerically beginning with the left-most slot of Chassis 0: 5842_00, 5842_01, and so on.

    5842_00 is the master VST in your system.

  • LO Source—NI recommends that you name each PXIe-5655 in your system to match the names of the PXIe-5842, beginning with the left-most PXIe-5655: 5655_00, 5655_01, and so on.

    5655_00 is the master LO source in your system.

  • Stream Translation Modules—NI recommends that you name each PXIe-8290 numerically beginning with the left-most slot of Chassis 0: 8290_00, 8290_01, and so on.

    Each stream translation module will map to each VST and record server in your system.

  • Synchronization Modules—NI recommends that you name each PXIe-6674T numerically beginning with the module in Chassis 0, then moving to Chassis 1: 6674T_00 and 6674T_01.

    6674T_00 is the master synchronization module in your system.
