Saving or Exporting Trace Data

After you execute trace sessions in a trace, you can save the trace to view it at a later time in the Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit. You also can export the trace to a text file that you can view in any text editor.
Saving a Trace
Select File»Save or press <Ctrl-S> to save the trace sessions in a trace.
The Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit saves traces as execution trace (.det) files that the toolkit can reload in the table pane. Select or press <Ctrl-O> to load a saved trace.
Exporting a Trace
You can export a trace to a text (.txt) file that you can view later in any text editor. Select or press <Ctrl-E> to export a trace.
You can use the General page of the Options dialog box to specify the type of delimiter to use in the text file.
