Receiving the ECUTS

When the ECUTS shipping crate arrives at the facility, store the crate indoors in an area that meets the following conditions.

Ensure the facility can accommodate the ECUTS shipping crate, which has the following dimensions and maximum weight.

NI recommends a suitable lifting apparatus, such as a pallet jack, for transporting the ECUTS shipping crate around the facility.

If the facility cannot accommodate the ECUTS shipping crate, unpack the shipping crate and move the ECUTS using its mounted casters.

Inspecting the Shipment

Notice Do not discard any parts or packaging until you complete the ECUTS bring-up and setup process. Do not reject the ECUTS shipment.
  1. Before you open the crate, inspect the tilt sensors on the sides of the crate.
Note A red sensor indicates that the sensor was activated during delivery.

  1. Inspect the crate for any damage.
  2. Review the packing list attached to the crate.
  3. Accept the shipment.
Contact NI if the tilt sensor on the crate is activated or the crate is damaged.

Unpacking the ECUTS

Caution To avoid injury, do not stand directly in front of the ECUTS when loading or unloading the ECUTS from the shipping crate.

Note The ECUTS-16000 shipping crate requires a clearance of at least 3.5 meters (11 ft) in front of the crate to lay out the crate ramp and roll the ECUTS-16000 out of the crate.

Equipment

  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Scissors, knife, or box cutter
  1. Remove the clamps securing the front panel of the crate using a flathead screwdriver.

  1. Lower the top end of the front panel onto the base of the shipping crate.
  2. Insert the notched top of the front panel into the groove on the bottom of the crate opening to use the front panel as a ramp.
  3. Verify the crate ramp is secure.
  4. Remove the box containing accessories and documentation from the top compartment of the ECUTS-16000 crate.
  5. Inspect the accessories for any physical damage.
  6. Remove the plywood shelf from the top compartment of the ECUTS-16000 crate.
  7. Remove the foam padding securing the ECUTS-16000.
  8. Remove the plywood block located at the bottom of the ECUTS-16000 crate.
  9. Unlock the brakes on the two visible caster wheels on the ECUTS-16000.
  10. Slowly roll the ECUTS-16000 out of the crate and down the ramp using the green, horizontal straps.
  11. Cut and remove the horizontal straps from the ECUTS-16000.
  12. Open and remove the poly antistatic bag from the ECUTS-16000.
  13. Inspect the ECUTS-16000 for any physical damage.
Contact NI Support if:
  • The ECUTS-16000 is physically damaged.
  • Any additional materials or boxes are physically damaged.
  • The contents of the ECUTS-16000 crate do not match the sales agreement or packing list.
