Bringing Up the ECUTS

Refer to the topics in this section to bring up the ECUTS-16000.

Powering On the ECUTS for the First Time

Notice To avoid damage to the system, verify that an interchangeable test adapter (ITA) or field diagnostic tester (FDT) is not connected to the ECUTS before powering on the system.

Equipment

  • Handheld DMM
  • LAN/Ethernet cable
  1. Verify that the main circuit breaker is in the Off position on the power entry panel.
  2. Verify that there is electrical continuity between the ECUTS ground lug and the facility earth ground using the handheld DMM.
Note The ECUTS ground lug connection requires 2.1 mm2 (14 AWG) copper wire.
  3. Connect a network cable to the Ethernet port on the rear of the ECUTS.
  4. Confirm that the primary emergency power off (EPO) button is not engaged.
  5. Open the rear cabinet door.
  6. Verify that all PDU circuit breakers, including the main breaker and CB1 to CB3, are in the On position.
  7. Verify that the CONTROL switch is set to REMOTE.
  8. Close and lock the rear cabinet door.
  9. Push in the brake lock on the ECUTS caster wheels to secure the test rack.
  10. Connect the main AC power cable plug to the ECUTS power inlet.
  11. Connect the other end of the main AC power cable to a facility power source.
  12. Verify that the main circuit breaker is in the On position on the power entry panel.
  13. Turn the Main Power switch to the right to turn on the ECUTS.
Complete the following troubleshooting steps if the ECUTS does not power on:
  • Ensure the system facility power is correct for the ECUTS. Refer to the ECUTS-16000 Test System Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Information document for power requirements.
  • Ensure the EPO button is not engaged.

Configuring the ECUTS

  1. Complete the Windows out-of-box experience according to facility practices.
  2. Sign in to the ECUTS using the login information created in step 1.
  3. If necessary, configure the network and user settings according to standard facility practices. Adhere to the following ECUTS network restrictions.
Note By default, the ECUTS uses DHCP and does not require network configuration.
    1. Ensure the port 0 network does not use subnet 169.254.X.X. These IP addresses are reserved for ECUTS internal functions.
    2. Do not change the settings for the ECUTS port 1 network adapter.

Completing Bring Up

To complete bring up, verify continuity for the ECUTS-16000 by ensuring that all components that shipped with the ECUTS are correctly routed to their assigned pins in the mass interconnect. Once you have verified continuity, dispose of the shipping crate per your company policies or store the shipping crate if you intend to reuse the crate to transport the ECUTS.
