A number of virtual semiconductor devices in the Multisim database include the ability to edit their instance parameters (for example, MOSFETs, GaAsFETs).
This is done from the Value tab of the placed component's properties dialog.
Complete the following steps to edit the instance parameters of a placed component:
- Double-click on the placed component and select its Value tab.
- Click the Views button and select one of the following:
- Table view—This is the default view for the selected component's Instance parameters. Select to edit individual parameters.
- SPICE view—Select to edit using SPICE syntax.
- If you are using the Table view:
- Select the row in the table corresponding to the instance parameter you wish to edit.
- Deselect Use default. This may already be deselected for some instance parameters.
- Edit the selected instance parameter's Value.
- Optionally, change the parameter's Show on schematic setting. Select one of None, Name and value or Value.
- If you are using the SPICE view:
- Select SPICE view from the Views button.
- Edit as desired.
Some components display their Device model level below the Instance parameters.
- Use the following commands from the Tools button as required:
- Copy from component—Copies all settings of all instance parameters from a component of the same type to the selected component.
- Copy to components—Copies all settings of all instance parameters of the selected component to one or more components of the same type.
- Select all—Selects all of the Instance parameters.
- Copy selected to clipboard—Copies the selected Instance parameters to the clipboard.
- Sort ascending—This is active when a column is selected in the Table view. Choose to sort the column in ascending alpha-numeric order.
- Sort descending—This is active when a column is selected in the Table view. Choose to sort the column in descending alpha-numeric order.
