You can view and edit a placed component's simulation model using the Edit Model dialog box.

Complete the following steps to edit a selected component's model:

  1. Double-click the component to display its properties dialog box.
  2. Click Edit model in the Value tab. The Edit Model dialog box appears.
  3. Edit the Model as desired.

When the model being edited corresponds to a primitive semiconductor device (for example, diode, BJT, JFET), additional buttons appear.

  4. Select the following as desired:
    • Change component—This button becomes active when a change is made to the Model information. Changes the model information for the selected component only, and closes the Edit Model dialog box.
    • Change all components—This button becomes active when a change is made to the Model information and there is at least one more instance of the same component on the active workspace. Changes all models for the same component on the active workspace only, and closes the Edit Model dialog box.

When two or more instances of the selected component are on the workspace, 2 components use this model appears. The number changes to reflect the number of instances of the component. To quickly locate these, click Display these components in the Results tab and double-click on the desired component in the Results tab to select it on the workspace.

    • Reset to default button—This button becomes active when a change is made to the Model information. It restores the model to its original state.

Changes apply to the placed components only. Components in the database are not affected.

When you are editing a standard Cadence® PSpice® model that contains instance parameters (PARAMS), the Edit Model dialog box also has a Instance parameters text box. Edit this as desired.
