A number of virtual semiconductor devices in the Multisim database include the ability to copy their instance parameters (for example, MOSFETs, GaAsFETs).
This is done using either the Copy from Component dialog box or the Copy to Components dialog box.
Copy from Component Dialog Box
Use this dialog box to copy all settings of all instance parameters from a component of the same type to the present component.
Complete the following steps to use this dialog:
- Double-click on the desired component and select the Value tab.
- Select Copy from component from the Tools button. The Copy from Component dialog box displays.
- Select the component whose instance parameters you wish to copy, in the RefDes column. The OK button becomes active.
The Sheet column shows the sheet the component appears on, including any subcircuits, hierarchical blocks and multi-pages.
- Click OK. The Copy from Component dialog box closes and the Instance parameters in the component's Value tab are updated to match those of the component you selected in the Copy from Component dialog box.
Copy to Components Dialog Box
Use this dialog box to copy all of the instance parameter values of the selected component to one or more components of the same type.
Complete the following steps to use this dialog:
- Double-click on the desired component and select the Value tab.
- Select Copy to components from the Tools button. The Copy to Components dialog box displays.
- Specify the components whose instance parameters you wish to replace with the instance parameters from the selected component, in the RefDes column. The OK button becomes active.
The Sheet column shows the sheet each component appears on, including any subcircuits, hierarchical blocks and multi-pages.
- Click OK. All Instance parameters values and settings are copied to the selected components and the Copy to Components dialog box closes.
