Create a dashboard to visualize test results from the Test Monitor API or TestStand. Test Monitor installs a default dashboard to help you visualize test data immediately. Edit the default dashboard or create a new one to visualize test data that is important to you.

  1. In the SystemLink web application, click Test Insights.
  2. On the sidebar, hover over Dashboard and click +.
    Note If you want to use an existing dashboard as a template for a new dashboard, click Options » Duplicate. Complete the prompts and proceed to step 5.
  3. For Source, select how you want to generate the dashboard. Refer to the following table to choose the dashboard you want to generate.
    Source option Description
    Create new dashboard Build a dashboard from scratch.
    Add existing dashboard Access a dashboard in Test Insights under Dashboards.
    Import dashboard file Upload a dashboard from another server as an .fpg file.
  4. Depending on what you selected for the Source, complete one of the following tasks:
    • Enter a name for the dashboard and click OK.
    • Select the dashboard you want to access in Test Insights and click OK.
    The dashboard editor opens. The dashboard also appears under Dashboard on the sidebar.
  5. At the top of the editor, click Panel Size and select the type of device on which you want to monitor the dashboard.
  6. Considering your goals and the type of dashboard you generated, customize the dashboard in any of the following ways.
    Note Refer to Visualizing Data on a Tile Dashboard and SystemLink Predefined Properties in this manual for more information about creating a dashboard.
    • Click New Tile and select the tile type you want to use to visualize data.
    • Select a tile on the dashboard and modify its data sources or properties.
    • Move a tile to another position on the panel.
    • Select an existing tile and delete it.
  7. Disable the Edit toggle to view your dashboard.
    Note The dashboard editor automatically saves your dashboard whenever you make a change.
  8. To make more changes, enable the Edit toggle.
  9. Optional: To make this dashboard the default dashboard in Test Insights, hover over it in the sidebar and click » Set as default.
