Write AVI Frame (G Dataflow)

Last Modified: March 26, 2019

Writes an image to the AVI file specified by AVI session in.

Use the Get AVI Codec Names node to find compatible AVI compression codecs currently installed on the computer.

The following table lists the image types supported by the codecs installed with the Vision Development Module.

Codec Supported Image Types
FFV1 U8, U16, I16, RGBU32, HSLU32, RGBU64
MJPEG U8, U16, I16, RGBU32, HSLU32, RGBU64
Y800 U8, U16, I16
I420 RGBU32, HSLU32, RGBU64
For U16 images, the bit depth must be set manually. Use the Get Set Image Bit Depth node to set the bit depth.

AVI session in

Reference to the AVI file output from the Create AVI File node or the Open AVI File node.

datatype_icon

image in

Reference to the image that you will write to an AVI file.

This image must be U8, RGBU32, I16, U16, HSLU32, or RGBU64. I16, U16, and RGBU64 images are only supported if the bit depth of the image is set. In this case, the node will downcast the image to U8 or RGBU32, shifting the data to keep the 8 most significant bits.

datatype_icon

error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs.

The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

Standard Error Behavior

Many nodes provide an error in input and an error out output so that the node can respond to and communicate errors that occur while code is running. The value of error in specifies whether an error occurred before the node runs. Most nodes respond to values of error in in a standard, predictable way.

error in does not contain an error error in contains an error
If no error occurred before the node runs, the node begins execution normally.

If no error occurs while the node runs, it returns no error. If an error does occur while the node runs, it returns that error information as error out.

If an error occurred before the node runs, the node does not execute. Instead, it returns the error in value as error out.

Default: No error

datatype_icon

AVI session out

AVI file output from the Create AVI File node or the Open AVI File node.

datatype_icon

image out

Duplicate of the image passed in.

datatype_icon

error out

Error information.

The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

Where This Node Can Run:

Desktop OS: Windows

FPGA: Not supported

Web Server: Not supported in VIs that run in a web application
