During an acquisition, samples are stored in a circular buffer that is continually rewritten until a trigger is received. After the trigger is received, the NI ELVIS III oscilloscope continues to acquire post-trigger samples if you have specified a post-trigger sample count. The acquired samples are placed into acquisition memory. The number of post-trigger or pre-trigger samples is only limited by the amount of acquisition memory.
