Roots Classification (G Dataflow)

Classifies the roots of a polynomial into real, complex conjugate pair, and pure complex roots.

roots

Complex roots of a polynomial.

tolerance for real roots

Tolerance for classifying real roots.

Algorithm for Classifying Real Roots

This node classifies the imaginary part of a complex root (a 2 + b 2 i) as a real root if the following relationship is true:

$|{b}_{2}|\le \text{tolerance for real roots}$

Default: 1E-10

tolerance for conjugate pair

Tolerance for classifying complex conjugate pairs.

Algorithm for Classifying Complex Conjugate Pairs

This node classifies the complex roots Z 0 and Z 1 as a complex conjugate pair if the following relationship is true:

$|\frac{\left({Z}_{0}-{Z}_{1}\right)}{{Z}_{0}}|\le \text{tolerance for conjugate pair}$

Default: 1E-07

error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs.

The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

Standard Error Behavior

Many nodes provide an error in input and an error out output so that the node can respond to and communicate errors that occur while code is running. The value of error in specifies whether an error occurred before the node runs. Most nodes respond to values of error in in a standard, predictable way.

error in does not contain an error error in contains an error
If no error occurred before the node runs, the node begins execution normally.

If no error occurs while the node runs, it returns no error. If an error does occur while the node runs, it returns that error information as error out.

If an error occurred before the node runs, the node does not execute. Instead, it returns the error in value as error out.

Default: No error

real roots

Real roots of the polynomial.

complex pair roots

Complex conjugate pair roots of the polynomial.

pure complex roots

Pure complex roots of the polynomial.

error out

Error information.

The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.
