Configuring Signal Acquisition

To configure NI VMS for signal acquisition, complete the following steps:

  1. Choose the video type, video format, and channel from the lists on the Acquisition tab.
  2. (Optional) For analog devices only, click Help to the left of the Channel list for an illustration of where to connect cables for the selected signal(s) on the multiplexer or digitizer if no multiplexer is attached.
  3. Choose a filter from the list on the Acquisitions tab.
  4. If the acquired signal contains high-frequency noise that may influence the measurement, choose a filter on the Filter tab. Refer to Filtering the Signal for more information.
  5. For analog devices only: Select the acquisition sample rate from the list.
  6. (Optional) Choose the number of lines or frames to acquire in the Choose Lines, Start line, End Line, and Frames controls. The default is to acquire one frame.
