Assembling the USRP B206mini-i

Add the aluminum enclosure to the board-only USRP B206mini-i to protect the board and to increase the operating temperature range of the device.

These instructions apply to installing the board-only USRP B206mini-i (NI part number 789156-01) within the enclosure accessory for the USRP B206mini-i (NI part number 789157-01).

  1. Disassemble the enclosure assembly by unscrewing the four Torx screws with the T8 Torx key.
  2. Place the USRP B206mini-i circuit card assembly in the lower plate of the enclosure such that the USB Type-C port on the underside of the circuit card assembly is aligned with the opening for the port in the lower plate.
  3. Place the heat spreader on top of the circuit card assembly; align the three notches in the heat spreader with the SMA connectors on the circuit card assembly.
  4. Place the four wavesprings in the recessed areas at each corner of the heat spreader.
  5. Place the upper plate of the enclosure on the lower plate.
  6. Install the four Torx screws with the T8 Torx key and tighten to a maximum torque of 0.76 N · m (6.7 in. · lb).
