Triggering is a feature that allows you to take a measurement with a deterministic response. In other words, you can begin taking a measurement in response to an external event. For example, if you are scanning with a switch, you may want to trigger the DMM to take a measurement after the switch has been activated and settled. To understand triggering, you must understand the DMM behavior during an acquisition.
Refer to the Triggering sections for your device for pin assignments and cable accessory information.
