You can control your NI digital multimeter using the NI-DMM instrument driver.
NI-DMM
NI-DMM, an Interchangeable Virtual Instrument (IVI)–compliant instrument driver, is included with your kit and communicates with all NI digital multimeters. NI-DMM features a set of operations and properties that exercise the functionality of the DMM hardware, including configuration, measuring, and scanning. In addition, NI-DMM comes with InstrumentStudio, a software-based front panel application that allows you to perform interactive measurements. NI-DMM eliminates the need to understand complex register programming and interrupt handling in the Microsoft operating systems, and frees you to focus on creating a test system.
Making Signal Connections
To acquire data, you need to connect the signals you want to measure to the DMM. For more information, refer to the front panel connections for your device linked under Related concepts.
Examples
Refer to Creating an Application with NI-DMM to begin controlling your DMM with NI-DMM. Refer to Examples for examples in NI LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Visual C++, and Visual Basic.
