Waveform Conditioning

Waveform conditioning is the process of preparing and optimizing signals captured from sensors or transducers before further processing and analysis.

In software waveform conditioning, you usually use time-domain digital filters to perform the following tasks:

  • Remove DC components
  • Remove high-frequency noise
  • Pass a frequency band of interest
  • Reject a frequency band
  • Detrend signals
  • Apply psophometric weighting
  • Integrate vibration signals
