Fractional-Octave Averaging
You can perform the following averaged measurements with fractional-octave analysis: linear, exponential, equal confidence, and peak hold.
Perform averaged measurements in the following conditions:
- You have continuous or gap-free blocks of time data.
- The number of samples in each block of time data can vary and has no impact on the filter design.
- All filters must settle before the averaged measurement is valid.
- The averaging automatically restarts when the filters are reset or when the averaging parameters change.
