Applications involving acoustic measurements use instrumentation devices that provide a
linear response, but rely on the human ear as the final, nonlinear sensor. Accounting for these
nonlinear limitations with psophometric weighting filters is crucial.

The frequency response of the microphone is designed to be as flat as possible in the
frequency range of 10 Hz to 10 kHz.
