Filtering the Display of Channel Groups and Channels in the Data Portal
Use the filter area of the Data Portal to reduce the Data Portal display to specific channels and groups. In addition, you can use pins in the Data Portal to always display specified groups and channels regardless of the enabled filters.
For example, to display only the channel groups that start with the letter R in the Data Portal, and to reduce the channels in these channel groups to those whose name contains the number 2, complete the following steps:
-
Open the Data Portal.
-
Load the data set Example.tdm, for example.
-
Click Filter on the toolbar of the Data Portal to open the filter area if it is closed.
-
Enter R as the group filter in the top line. The Data Portal now displays only the channel groups that start with the letter R.
-
Enter *2 as the channel filter in the bottom line. Within the channel groups that are displayed, the Data Portal displays only the channels that have the number 2 in their names. When you define filters, you can use the wildcard ? for a single letter and the wildcard * for any number of letters. The filter is not case-sensitive.
