Generating Data Set, Group, and Channel Custom Properties in the Data Portal

Use custom properties to create and to display your own properties for data sets, groups, and channels. For example, to create a custom property for a channel, complete the following steps:

1. Open the Data Portal.

2. Right-click the channel you want to add a custom property to.

3. Select New»Custom Property from the context menu.

4. Enter the name of the custom property, for example, Test description.

5. Specify the type of the custom property, for example, String.

6. Click OK. DIAdem displays the custom property in the Properties display of the Data Portal.

7. Click the right column next to the new property and enter the value for the property, for example, Motor test.

	Note  You also can use the DataFinder to search for the content of custom properties.
	Note  DIAdem saves the custom property with the data set.
