Use search areas to specify in which folders the DataFinder runs a search. To specify a new search area and to define a folder within this search area that the DataFinder excludes from the search, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the DIAdem NAVIGATOR panel.

  2. Select Settings»My DataFinder»Configure.

  3. Click Add Search Area.

  4. Enter an alias name for the search area.

  5. Click the Choose a Folder symbol.

  6. Specify the folder you want to define as the new search area.

  7. Click OK twice.

  8. Click the Exclude Subfolder symbol.

  9. Specify the subfolder DIAdem excludes from the search.

  10. Click OK.

DIAdem displays the My DataFinder DataFinder with the new search area and the subfolder that is excluded from the search.
