When joining multiple nets together, the final name of the net depends on the priority of the different net naming methods used to define the net.

The figure above shows the net naming priority in order of precedence from highest to lowest. Refer to the key below:

1—The 0 (ground) net. This can never be renamed.

2—Names provided by global connectors.

3—Names assigned directly to nets by the user in the Net Properties dialog box (in this example, Preferred net name is test).

4—Names provided by on-page connectors.

5—Names provided by hierarchical connectors.

6—Names provided by off-page connectors.

7—Auto-named nets.
