Editing Pre-defined Components

This topic is for pre-defined components that have no directly-enterable parameters, and is typically used for manufacturers' components.
The Value tab for this type of component contains the following:
| Parameter | Description |

| Source location |
Displays the component's Database / Group / Family. For example, Master Database / Transistors / IGBT. |
| Value | The name of the component, for example, 2N2102. This also appears in the Select a Component dialog box's Component list. |
| Package | The identifier for the component's package. |
| Manufacturer | The name of component's manufacturer. |
| Function | A brief description of the component. |
| Hyperlink | When used, this is typically a link to the component manufacturer's website. You can place any hyperlink you want here by typing it into the Hyperlink line in the component's User fields tab. |

Edit component in DB—Displays the Model tab of the Component Properties dialog box for the selected component. Save component to DB—Displays the Select Destination Family Name dialog box where you select where to save the component. Use this if you have changed the component's model and wish to save the new version in the User database. Edit package—Use to change the component's package. Edit model—Use to edit the component's model. |
