Finding Examples

You can extend your system capabilities, including prototyping and debugging test execution, using simulated DUTs and instrumentation. Example files demonstrate the capabilities of the Battery Test System Software Toolkit. You can find these examples on your host computer at: %Public%\Documents\National Instruments\Battery Test System Toolkit\Examples.

  • Multi DUT Alarms and Procedures—This folder contains an example to use alarms and procedures to stop real-time sequences for multi-DUT scenarios.
  • SAE J1798—This folder contains example SAE J1798-inspired test sequences, such as a Peak Power Capability Test and Constant Current Capacity Test.
  • Sequence Recovery—This folder contains a Sequence Recovery example to set safe checkpoints for your system testing.

Accessing Custom Devices

The Battery Test System Software Toolkit provides several custom devices for you to design and implement applications.

To access the Battery Test System Software Toolkit Custom Devices for VeriStand in your project, open the System Explorer window from VeriStand Editor, navigate to Targets»Controller»Custom Devices, and right-click Custom Devices. Select one of the following custom devices from the shortcut menu:

  • Instrument Addon
  • Black Box Recorder
  • Embedded Data Logger
  • File Mover
  • Network DAQ
  • SystemLink
  • Scan Engine and EtherCAT

For general information about each custom device, select the appropriate custom device from the System Explorer window in VeriStand Editor. For more information about how to use each custom device with the Battery Test System Software Toolkit, refer to the Battery Test System User Manual.

Automating the Installation of NI Products

You can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes.

If the NI product you are installing uses Microsoft .NET 4.6.2, the .NET installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.6.2 separately before you install NI software.

For more information about automating the installation of NI products, refer to Automating an Installer in the NI Package Manager manual.

Using NI Software with Microsoft Windows 10

Microsoft Windows 10 is the latest version of the Windows operating system and features significant changes compared to previous versions. Windows 10 introduces several new capabilities and also combines features from both Windows 7 and Windows 8. For more information about NI support for Windows 10, visit ni.com/windows10.
