4-Slot, Ethernet/Serial Backplane for Compact FieldPoint—The cFP-1804 Ethernet/serial chassis connects Compact FieldPoint I/O modules to a high-speed Ethernet network or an RS232 serial port. For third-party connectivity to the cFP-1804, you can use a wide range of third-party protocols such as Modbus TCP, Optomux, Modbus ASCII, Modbus RTU, and OPC, as well as NI event-driven Ethernet/serial protocols. You can perform IP address assignment and module configuration using NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and the NI-FieldPoint driver.
