Aligning Objects After Placement

Align objects that are already on the front panel or block diagram objects by their edges or centers. Apply the active alignment option to other object groups that you select.
- You can align an object along a horizontal axis using its top or bottom edge or its center point.
- You can align an object along a vertical axis using its left or right edge or its center point.
To choose how you want to align objects, use the Align
Objects pull-down menu
on the toolbar. You can then use to apply that option to other groups of objects.
To align objects that are already on the front panel or the block diagram, complete the following steps.
- Select the objects you want to align.

Select the Align Objects pull-down menu (
) in the
toolbar of the front panel or the block diagram.

Select from the following options:
- Top Edges (
): Aligns all top edges of the selected objects with the topmost
object. - Vertical Centers (
): Aligns the objects at the point halfway between the topmost and bottommost
objects. - Bottom Edges (
): Aligns all bottom edges of the selected objects with the bottommost
object. - Left Edges (
): Aligns all left edges of the selected objects with the object farthest to the
left. - Horizontal Centers (
): Aligns the objects at the point halfway between the object farthest to the
left and the object farthest to the right. - Right Edges (
): Aligns all right edges of the selected objects with the object farthest to
the right.
The alignment option you select remains in effect until you change it. A dark border around the icon in the pull-down menu indicates the active alignment option.

To repeat the same alignment operation on another group of objects, do either of the
following:

- macOS: Command+Shift+A
