Editing Frames

Edit or delete an existing frame, or create a new frame.

Edit an existing frame by adding or deleting signals, mapping a PDU to the frame, or by modifying frame properties.

Deleting a Frame

To delete a frame, select the frame in the navigation tree, and then select Edit » Delete.

Creating a Frame

New clusters can be created only in ARXML, NCD, and XML database files; you can export clusters from DBC and LDF database files.
  1. Right-click the database cluster in the navigation tree, and select Create Frame.
  2. Provide a name for the frame, and configure the available frame properties, which vary by communication protocol.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • For supported database files (i.e., DBC and XML), select File » Save to save your changes to the database.
    • For unsupported database file formats, select File » Save As, and save the modified database in FIBEX XML format.
