VLM Menu Items

Learn about the VLM menu items.

Note If you make changes to the VLM configuration, click Apply Changes in the toolbar so that the changes take effect.

File Menu

Install Agreement License File Installs a new agreement license file in NI VLM. You must use this method to install any new agreement license file. For more information, refer to Installing an Agreement License File.
Backup/Restore NI VLM Backs up or restores NI VLM data, settings, and log files. For more information, refer to Backing up and Restoring NI VLM Data.
Load NI VLM Import Utility Data Imports NI VLM Import Utility files into Permission Requests. For more information, refer to NI VLM Import Utility.
Exit Exits NI VLM.

View Menu

Note   This command does not apply changes. If you make changes to the VLM configuration, click the Apply Changes button in the toolbar so that the changes take effect.

Tools Menu

Start/Stop Volume License Server Starts or stops the volume license server. A running volume license server is required to support your volume licenses.
Create Volume License Installer Transforms a standard NI software installer into an installer suited for installation by your clients. For information, refer to Creating Volume License Installers.
Send VLA Log Generates a VLA Log and either saves it or sends it automatically to NI, depending on what you select. For more information, refer toSending a VLA Log to NI or Renewing Expired Agreements.
Preferences Helps you configure various options and policies. For more information, refer to Configuring NI VLM Preferences.

Help Menu

NI VLM Help Launches the main VLM Help.
Current View Help Launches theVLM Help topic for the current view.
Patents Displays NI patent information.
About NI Volume License Manager Displays information about VLM.
