Step Type Edit Tab

Use the Step Type Edit tab to specify step-type-specific properties of a step. The tabs available update based on the type of step you select. Some step types do not support displaying settings on the tab and instead contain buttons to launch edit or configuration dialog boxes. When you open a Step Type Edit tab that contains a button, click the button to launch the edit or configuration dialog box that corresponds to the step type.

The following table lists the name and associated edit tab (in the TestStand Sequence Editor ) or configuration dialog box (in a TestStand User Interface ) you use to configure instances of the specified step type. Some step types provide the same tab or dialog box to configure steps in both the sequence editor or a user interface.

Note TestStand offers the ability to create custom edit tabs for user-created step types to provide a native edit-time experience for users of custom steps. This approach requires the development of a custom .NET control for integration into the Sequence Editor.
