File Menu - Execution Profiler
File Menu
The File menu contains the following options.
-
Open
—Launches the Open Profile dialog box, in which you can load an existing profile file. Loading a profile discards any existing profile information and pauses the profiler data collection. If you resume the profile display to show new events after loading a file created in the past, the profiler shows the corresponding gap in absolute time between the loaded events and the new events. You can reposition events on the timeline with the
Edit»Move Selected Operations
command.
Note If you restart TestStand after saving a profile file, the thread and execution IDs in the saved profile might not necessarily be distinct from the thread and execution IDs for new events.
- Merge —Launches the Merge Profile dialog box, from which you can select a profile file to merge into memory with the current profile data. After you select a file, the profiler displays the Merge Profiling Data dialog box in which you can specify where on the timeline to place the loaded data and whether to mark the loaded operations with a selected color.
- Save —Launches the Save Profile dialog box, in which you can save the recorded information to a file for viewing at a later time.
- Configure Data Collection —Launches the Configure Data Collection dialog box, in which you can select the information you want the profiler to collect. You can increase execution speed by reducing the amount of information the profiler collects.
- Exit —Closes the profiler and discards all profile data.
Note
When you close the profiler window, all configuration and view filtering settings revert to their default values to prevent data from being inadvertently hidden or discarded in a future session.
